Hello, meet Gloria! This determined little cat is a true survivor. Put out on the streets to fend for herself when her owner moved away, she managed to survive the streets and the brutal cold of two winters. Gloria was discovered by a Kalamazoo Animal Rescue volunteer who was on another cat visitation in the neighborhood.

Most cats see a cat carrier and go the opposite direction. Gloria saw her opportunity for safety and jumped inside. It was obvious that she needed medical care with a severe upper respiratory infection and scrapes on her face. Gloria slept for two weeks and only moved to eat.

After two months, this resilient little lady has transformed into a beautiful solid white cat with sparkling blue eyes. Her ear tips still show remnants of frostbite which have healed. She might always have little sneezes. But she is a grateful, loving cat who looks forward to a new chapter in life.

She is a talker, she loves human attention, she appreciates a soft blanket, and she will sometimes act nippy if one pays too much attention to her ears. But a cat with a will to survive is going to need a strong disposition with a little attitude. It is likely that Gloria will appreciate safe viewing to the outdoors such as a porch as she is very interested in outdoor happenings.

Gloria has had terrific medical care, including blood work to check all vital organ functions (everything is normal) and even had her teeth cleaned. With her will to live and clean bill of health, she should live many more years.

If you'd like more information about Gloria, please submit an online application.

Nancy D is her foster parent. The adoption fee for Gloria is $40. If more than one cat or kitten is adopted the adoption fees are discounted, please complete our online application form if you are interested in adopting Gloria. A volunteer will contact you within approximately 48-72 hours.

All Kalamazoo Animal Rescue cats & kittens are spayed or neutered and feline leukemia tested prior to adoption. They also are given medication to rid them of roundworms and checked and treated for fleas & ear mites, if needed. All are given distemper vaccinations and depending on how long the pet has been in foster care, a booster vaccine may be necessary after adoption which will be the responsibility of the adopter. Additional vet care may have been provided depending on the particular animal's needs. Most cats and kittens are microchipped when they are spayed or neutered.
