Meet Belle

Belle is an incredibly sweet older lady. She weighs in at a petite 45lbs. Everyone that meets her loves her mellow personality and easy going attitude. At one of the adoption events in a pet store, Belle was being walked around by a four year old among several of the young playful dogs.

She is currently in a foster home with a male dog, a cat, and two small children. Belle loves to lay next to people for belly rubs and will approach people gently and sweetly. She really just wants a soft place to lay and somebody to pet her. Her favorite place in the house is at the foot of the 4-year old's bed. Belle would love a home where she could receive a lot of attention and be treated like the princess she is. Her favorite thing to do is lay on the couch and watch the kids play while somebody pets her. She also likes to snuggle up with the four-year old in the home and watch movies. She loves to be by people and will follow her foster family from room to room.

She doesn't jump on people, in fact she sits to receive pets. Belle is not a chewer and is crate trained. She has never even attempted to pick up one of the children’s toys that are scattered around her foster home. She does not bark at anything when inside. Belle is a low energy dog and does not require daily walks, although she does like to get out every once and a while. She also rides well in a car.

Although she lives with another dog, she does not play with him much and is shy when first meeting other dogs. Since her time in her foster home she has learned to play more and sometimes shows her younger side and chases the other dogs around the yard. 

Belle is housetrained although she does need time to adjust to a new schedule and may have a few accidents as she transitions. Also, she needs someone to let her out every 6 hours. As expected, her bladder just isn't the same as it was when she was younger.

Belle would love a home that appreciates her senior status and her laid back lifestyle she was brought into the rescue when her owner had a change in her living situation and moved to a home that would not allow pets. She will make a wonderful companion for somebody in her new home.
