Apply For Hedwig

Hedwig came to the rescue as a feral. Very scared, very shy. I was her second foster home. I don't believe in the gentle approach when it comes to socializing ferals so she went right in the middle of everyone in the living room. She has made great strides in the time I have had her. She gets along with other cats, dogs, and kids. She still has some nervousness when she is out playing with everyone, but once she remembers that she likes to be pet she will stand next to the one trying to pet her. She has been spayed and microchipped and is up to date on her shots. If you don't mind being patient with her, giving her plenty of space to get used to her new surroundings, and the option to not engage I think she will eventually warm up to her new people. She is a recovering feral but does enjoy some company once she is used to you.

Cydnie S is her foster parent. The adoption fee for Hedwig is $40. If more than one cat or kitten is adopted the adoption fees are discounted, please complete our online application form if you are interested in adopting Hedwig. A volunteer will contact you within approximately 48-72 hours.

All Kalamazoo Animal Rescue cats & kittens are spayed or neutered and feline leukemia tested prior to adoption. They also are given medication to rid them of roundworms and checked and treated for fleas & ear mites, if needed. All are given distemper vaccinations and depending on how long the pet has been in foster care, a booster vaccine may be necessary after adoption which will be the responsibility of the adopter. Additional vet care may have been provided depending on the particular animal's needs. Most cats and kittens are microchipped when they are spayed or neutered.
