Apply For Tiny and Grub
Meet your new favorite dynamic duo!
Tiny (black/white) and Grub (orange) are “brothers from another mother.” They may not be littermates, but they are best friends! They are a bonded pair looking for their forever home together.
Personality
- Tiny is a spunky, outgoing kitten. He has tons of personality packed into his little body! He LOVES to play, but once he winds down for a nap, he loves to snuggle up either with a person or with Grub. He also likes "making biscuits" on a soft blanket!
- Grub is often heard before he’s seen. He purrs a LOT and loudly! He’s more shy than his "brothers," but his foster parent has been introducing him to lots of people. His confidence has grown a lot in just a few weeks. Once you've earned his trust, he's the sweetest little guy and loves snuggles!
Future home
- Tiny and Grub have gotten along well with the resident cats in the home.
- Grub would do best in a quiet home without young children (kids are scary!).
- They haven't met any dogs yet. Grub is scared of loud noises, but he may adjust to a calm and quiet dog that doesn't bark much. A slow intro would be recommended.
Background:
- Tiny’s story: Tiny and his littermates were born in a local funeral home garage to a stray mama cat. As they got older (and started to run around!), a Good Samaritan was worried about their safety in the garage. The kittens came to KAR to be vetted and placed in loving forever homes.
- Grub’s story: We don't know much about Grub, but he came to KAR all by himself. Without any brothers or sisters to keep him company, he was crying for attention. He was a similar age to Tiny and his littermates, so his foster brought him home to be in the company of friends! He was a little scared of them at first, but now he loves to play with all of them (especially Tiny).
Fun facts:
- Tiny is a bicolor, black and white cat (commonly known as a "cow cat"). The pattern of his markings is called "mask and mantle," meaning the black spots cover his face and the top of his back.
- Grub is an orange mackerel tabby. Mackerel tabbies have thin stripes. This pattern is named after a mackerel fish, which also has thin stripes!
Brook V is his foster parent. The adoption fee for Tiny and Grub is $230, please complete our online application form if you are interested in adopting Tiny and Grub. A volunteer will contact you within approximately 48-72 hours.
All Kalamazoo Animal Rescue cats & kittens are spayed or neutered and feline leukemia tested prior to adoption. They also are given medication to rid them of roundworms and checked and treated for fleas & ear mites, if needed. All are given distemper vaccinations and depending on how long the pet has been in foster care, a booster vaccine may be necessary after adoption which will be the responsibility of the adopter. Additional vet care may have been provided depending on the particular animal's needs. Most cats and kittens are microchipped when they are spayed or neutered.
